- Communicate with you about your project, installation, or service
- Fulfil our contractual obligations to you as a customer

Lawful basis for processing
We rely on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR / EU GDPR:

- Contract performance — where you become a customer, to fulfil and administer the contract
- Legal obligation — where we are required to retain records by law (e.g. MCS installation records)
- Consent — for any optional marketing communications, which you can withdraw at any time
4. How Long We Keep Your Data
- Enquiries that do not proceed: we will retain your contact details for up to 12 months to allow us to respond fully, then securely delete them.
- Customer installation records: retained for a minimum of 6 years to satisfy legal and warranty obligations and MCS requirements.
- Financial and contractual records: kept for 7 years in accordance with HMRC requirements.
After the relevant retention period, personal data is securely deleted or anonymised.
5. Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share limited information with:
- SolarEdge — equipment registration and warranty purposes, where you consent
- MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) — where legally required to certify installations

- Surveyors or subcontractors — only where necessary to carry out the installation, and only the minimum information required
- Our accountant / bookkeeper — for financial record-keeping, under a data processing agreement
- IT and email service providers — under contractual data protection obligations
All third parties we share data with are required to handle it in compliance with applicable data protection law.
6. International Data Transfers
Where any service provider processes data outside the UK or European Economic Area (EEA), we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place — such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or adequacy decisions — before transferring data.
